A technology service provider has initiated a latest collaboration with a world-renowned manufacturer of ejection seats and aviation safety equipment. This engagement aims to improve operational efficiency and future-proof its operations through changes to its SAP enterprise structure and additional SAP improvements.



The consultancy has successfully implemented several projects for this customer, including the deployment of the PreBilt™ solution. This implementation substantially enhanced operational visibility, minimised manual processes, and improved usability for personnel.



Transition to SAP S/4HANA



As part of its digital progression, the manufacturer is moving from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, selecting a brownfield implementation. This approach called for a review of the existing enterprise structure, which had not changed with one plant and one warehouse, although the company operates across three UK sites.



In early 2024, the consultancy was commissioned to perform a feasibility study and provide targeted recommendations based on SAP best practices. The proposal suggested the completion of the S/4HANA upgrade prior to implementing a revised enterprise structure, suggesting the adoption of two plants and three warehouses.



Upcoming Implementation Phase



With the S/4HANA upgrade almost complete, the customer is now proceeding with the recommended enterprise structure changes. Additional system improvements identified during initial scoping are also set for implementation. These include improvements to PreBilt and changes to SAP to support inter-site stock transfers and Available to Promise (ATP) functionality.
